Position OverviewThe Maintenance Planner is responsible for scheduling the work activity of the Maintenance and Engineering team. This role prepares efficient and effective work plans for all Preventative, Predictive, Condition-Based, and Project/Backlog Maintenance work, works with the Technical Stores Team to ensure parts are available, and coordinates execution of the maintenance plan in conjunction with the production schedule.
Primary Responsibilities- Plan all Predictive, Preventative, and Condition Based Maintenance in conjunction with the site’s production and operational plan, including resource availability to execute activities effectively and efficiently in a coordinated way
- Help prioritize and escalate critical work as necessary
- Manage CMMS Data, ensuring that appropriate information, such as FLOC, BOMs, and PMs, are entered into the CMMS system when a modification, improvement, or addition is made to manufacturing, utilities, and/or other support area equipment
- Monitor work order backlog; schedule backlog work in a timely manner to maintain a reasonable level
- Monitor/Audit technician data entry and quality into SAP/AMM system
- Provide support and training as required to ensure meaningful and comprehensive information is available
- Evaluate all notifications by working with the Maintenance Manager, Maintenance Supervisors, and technicians; convert notifications to work orders and provide feedback to requestors as appropriate
- Monitor work order completion, backlog, and schedule compliance to ensure health of maintenance systems
- Drive continuous improvement projects related to maintenance as assigned by working with operations and engineering alike
- Participate in problem solving activities, including Breakdown Analysis (BDA)
- Generate reports and manage KPIs
- 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment required; food industry preferred
- Experience managing a CMMS system required (e.g., SAP, Maximo, MP2, MLS)
- 3+ years of experience working as a technician or in a hands‑on capacity preferred
- 2 years of experience serving as the liaison with external vendors for the procurement of parts for maintenance activities is required; international procurement experience is a plus
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
- High level of computer expertise and competence
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Strong mechanical and electrical skills
- Ability to understand and apply maintenance continuous improvement methodologies
- Strong analysis skills
- Willingness to support a positive Nestlé culture and follow established values
- Detail oriented with emphasis on data accuracy
- Ability to work occasional weekend on a rotation basis
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and handle multiple tasks
