Utility Systems Repairer Operator (USRO)
Assigned to the Graphic Control section of Engineering, Facilities Management Service, this role supports the Gainesville/Lake City Division of the North Florida/South Georgia Veterans Health System by monitoring and maintaining building energy and environmental systems.
Responsibilities- Conduct monthly generator test for hospital emergency generators.
- Operate building automation & control systems, responding to alarms.
- Stand in as Graphic Control Operator during Supervisor absence.
- Identify faulty equipment and perform repairs on HVAC systems (heating, cooling, humidification, dehumidification, cleaning, filtering, circulating).
- Work within a 24/7 rotating shift schedule, Sunday–Saturday.
Carry equipment up to 50 lbs, work on ladders, platforms, and scaffolding; frequent stooping, bending, kneeling; use chain hoists and rigging for up to 5,000 lbs.
Requirements- U.S. citizen.
- Background/suitability investigation required.
- Selective Service registration for males born after 12/31/1959.
- Driver's license or state (REAL‑ from May 7, 2025).
