Maintenance Supervisor
Location: Gainesville City School District M & O
Reports To: Director of Maintenance and Operations
Work Calendar: 235 Days
Pay Grade: To Be Determined
FLSA Status: Exempt
SummaryUnder the general supervision of the Director of Maintenance & Operations.
Essential Functions- Adhere to GCSS standards and promote a safe and positive work environment.
- Maintain all equipment and tools in good working order; assist in supervising white fleet maintenance.
- Perform weekly school building inspections and create inspection reports.
- Safely load, unload, and secure all equipment, tools, and other items to be transported by vehicle or trailer.
- Procure and return materials, equipment, and tools to/from stock.
- Immediately report safety hazards affecting students, employees, or visitors.
- Maintain safe work sites and supervise day‑to‑day maintenance department including HVAC, Electrical, and Low Voltage personnel.
- Routinely climb, balance, stop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as required.
- Routinely lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
- Work indoors and outdoors with exposure to weather including cold, heat, wet, and high humidity.
- Follow written and oral instructions.
- Supervise GCSS security cameras, security, and fire alarm systems.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Experience performing general maintenance duties (desirable).
- Valid Georgia Driver's License.
- Alternative qualifications acceptable as determined by the Board.
- Medium:
Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and/or move 10–25 pounds frequently. - Heavy:
Occasionally lift up to 75 pounds and/or frequently move 25–50 pounds, and/or constantly move 10–20 pounds.

Maintenance of a criminal history check is required for all employees.
