Job Description

The O'Connell Center provides an exciting and dynamic environment for events. A crew member supports operations in three divisions—Event Staff, Changeover, and Technical—by assisting patrons, scanning tickets, setting up and breaking down events, and helping with stage, electrical, and audio aspects. The position requires teamwork, dedication, friendliness, and a positive attitude. Training is provided; prior experience is not required.

Shift Requirements
  • Option 1:
    Start August 4 – minimum 15 shifts, dates August 7 to September 5.
  • Option 2:
    Start September 17 – minimum 15 shifts, dates September 18 to November 5.
  • Monthly commitment: 25 hours per month during fall and spring semesters.
  • Special events: 1 holiday shift, 2 football game day shifts, 1 fall commencement shift, 2 spring commencement shifts.
Expected Salary

$15.50 per hour after probationary period ($14.00 per hour during probationary period).

Required Qualifications

Open to anyone who wants part‑time employment in an engaging environment. University of Florida students must maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA and work up to 20 hours per week.

  • Willingness to work beyond the minimum requirements.
  • Adaptability and quick learning ability.
  • Strong time‑management skills.
  • Readiness to be taught by peers.
Additional Requirements
  • Availability for weeknights, weekends, football game days, and commencements.
  • Monthly hour commitments and event‑specific shifts as noted above.
