A Brief Overview

The Facilities Maintenance Lead is responsible for coordinating and performing maintenance tasks to ensure the efficient operation of building systems, infrastructure, and equipment. This role includes hands-on maintenance work, organizing team efforts, and ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.

What you will do
  • Organize and perform maintenance activities for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and other building systems.
  • Conduct inspections to identify potential issues and prioritize maintenance tasks.
  • Diagnose and resolve problems with building systems and equipment. Guide team members in addressing complex maintenance issues.
  • Act as a resource for team members, providing technical guidance and support. Coordinate work assignments to ensure timely completion of maintenance tasks.
  • Ensure maintenance activities comply with OSHA, safety regulations, and building codes. Oversee the proper functioning of fire safety systems and address safety concerns.
  • Collaborate with contractors and vendors for specialized maintenance projects. Monitor vendor work to ensure quality and adherence to project timelines.
  • Assist in facility improvement and renovation projects.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, work orders, and equipment.
  • Manage inventory and supplies for maintenance tasks.
  • Some duties may vary slightly by location.
Education Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required (Required) or
  • trade school or technical certifications (Preferred)
Experience Qualifications
  • 4-6 years in facilities maintenance, with at least 2 years in a leadership or coordination role. (Required)
  • 4-6 years with maintaining and troubleshooting building systems and equipment. (Required)
Skills and Abilities
  • In-depth knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems. (High proficiency)
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve complex maintenance issues effectively. (High proficiency)
  • Understanding of OSHA standards and building safety protocols. (High proficiency)
  • Effective verbal and written communication for team and vendor collaboration. (High proficiency)
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple maintenance tasks efficiently. (High proficiency)
  • Skills in coordinating vendor work and overseeing small-scale maintenance projects. (Medium)
  • Ability to organize team efforts and provide technical guidance. (Medium proficiency)
  • Familiarity with facility management software and basic computer applications. (Medium proficiency)
Licenses and Certifications
  • HVAC Certification (Preferred)
  • Electrical Certification (Preferred)
