Job Summary

Under broad supervision, provide advanced‑level technical support in one or more of the following areas: OMAT, maintenance, construction, intermodal, planning, utilities, surveying, environmental or traffic.

Specific Duties

Under immediate supervision, and in a learning capacity, perform work in the maintenance of state highways and rights‑of‑way or in the installation of traffic control devices. Use hand and power tools to complete assigned tasks. Operate light vehicles and equipment to perform activities. Learn to perform traffic control duties and preventive maintenance on equipment. Complete applicable paperwork. Respond to requests for emergency needs outside of normal working hours.

Lift moderately heavy objects. Climb, stand, or walk for long periods of time in possible adverse weather conditions. Use accurate eye‑hand coordination. Employees in this position will successfully complete a job training program, Maintenance Skills Development (MSD). Commit to providing quality customer service.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Possession of a Class B Commercial Driver’s License.
