The Building & Grounds Technician is responsible for maintaining the exterior areas of the facility in a clean, safe, and orderly condition. This role performs routine groundskeeping, janitorial, and preventative maintenance duties while supporting the maintenance department as needed. Responsibilities include trash removal, upkeep of outdoor areas, and ensuring all exterior spaces comply with company safety and cleanliness standards. This position is also responsible for performing interior and exterior painting within processing and non-processing areas, operating company-owned equipment and vehicles, and assisting with general facility maintenance activities.
QualificationsMinimum Qualifications (Required)
This position requires the ability to perform janitorial and groundskeeping duties safely and effectively. Candidates must have hands-on experience using hand and power tools, including but not limited to skill saws, grinders, levels, drills, impact tools, concrete saws, and concrete mixers. General handyman experience is required, including carpentry, plumbing, painting, remodeling, drywall installation, framing, basic electrical work, and tile work. The employee must be able to work effectively in a team environment with internal staff and external contractors, complete assigned tasks independently, and follow verbal and written instructions.
A valid driver’s license is required, along with reliable attendance and punctuality. A small hands-on skills assessment will be required as part of the selection process.
Previous experience in building maintenance, groundskeeping, or janitorial services is preferred. Experience working in an industrial or manufacturing environment is also preferred.

The Building & Grounds Technician maintains cleanliness and organization of all exterior areas of the facility and collects and disposes of outdoor trash into designated compactors. The position performs assigned preventative maintenance on buildings and grounds and assists maintenance staff with repair and improvement projects as needed. The technician detects and reports damaged materials, unsafe conditions, and maintenance concerns to the Maintenance Supervisor or Manager and follows all company safety, security, and food safety policies.
Additional duties may be assigned based on operational needs.
