Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Position Overview
Assists other operations personnel in vehicle repairs, small equipment repairs, filling trucks, and other warehouse responsibilities.
Responsibilities- Responds to fleet breakdowns in the field
- Fills trucks as needed
- Observes mechanical devices in operation and diagnoses defects
- Maintains and repairs equipment such as aerators, spreaders, tractors, and seeders
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or two to three years related experience in lawn/horticulture agronomic field and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Requires occasional local travel
- Valid, permanent driver’s license from state of residence
- Current liability auto insurance required
- Must be physically located in the United States while performing the job
- Written and verbal communication skills, including delivering presentations
- Can operate independently and collaboratively within a team
- Can read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Can write routine reports and correspondence
- Can calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, percentages, area, and volume
- Can define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Can carry out a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Regularly required to sit or stand, walk on uneven surfaces or climb stairs, use hands and arms, speak and hear, use vision, lift up to 50 lbs independently, and operate and repair equipment
- Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; work in moderate to loud noise levels; work under adverse weather conditions; expose to animals and insects; handle chemicals with proper safety equipment; work near mechanical or moving parts
- Must speak, read, and write fluently in English
$30,436.00 – $63,002.00, based on qualifications, experience, training, and other factors. Most candidates will start in the lower half of the range; upper end reserved for extensive experience. Pay history does not factor where prohibited by law.
