Role OverviewWe are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Property Caretaker / Groundskeeper to maintain and present a high-end historic inn that is currently inactive and listed for sale as a private home.
This role blends light groundskeeping, light housekeeping, vendor coordination, and on-site representation during real estate activities (photoshoots, contractor visits, inspections).
This is not a heavy construction role — it is a property presentation and stewardship role
.
- Schedule: ~20 hours per week (flexible scheduling)
- Employment Type: Part-time
The Caretaker ensures the property remains in pristine, show-ready condition at all times. The ideal candidate takes pride in maintaining beautiful spaces, understands discretion and professionalism, and can operate independently without daily supervision.
Core Responsibilities Grounds & Exterior Care- Maintain lawn, garden beds, and landscaping
- Power washing walkways/porches as needed
- Monitor exterior lighting and replace bulbs
- Keep outdoor spaces tidy and inviting
- Dusting, vacuuming, light cleaning of common areas
- Airing out rooms periodically
- Monitoring for moisture issues (critical in coastal Texas)
- Basic staging touch-ups prior to showings
- Ensure property remains “photo-ready”
- Check plumbing fixtures for leaks
- Coordinate HVAC servicing when needed
- Report larger issues promptly
- Meet subcontractors for scheduled work
- Provide supervised access to inspectors or vendors
- Ensure work is completed properly before vendors leave
- Open property for professional photoshoots
- Assist with light staging adjustments
- Secure property after visits
- Maintain professionalism and discretion
- 3+ years in property maintenance, facilities, landscaping, or similar
- Self-starter who works independently
- Reliable transportation
- Basic tools and comfort using hand tools
