Groundskeeper – TAMU Galveston

Location:

TAMU Galveston – 1001 Texas Clipper Road, Galveston, TX 77554. Openings also available at other locations within the school district.

Schedule:

Full‑time and part‑time positions, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Detailed scheduling information will be provided during the interview.

Pay Range: $15.50 to $17.50 per hour.

Initial Requirement:
Minimum one year of turf and/or landscaping experience.

Plans and administers a program of grounds and plant maintenance, including growing schedules, propagation, and general grounds upkeep. Performs a variety of turf and plant care duties, reinforcing a safe, clean, and attractive campus environment.

• Provide quality customer service to staff and visitors, giving attentive care to details.
• Inspect common areas and report deficiencies to the Maintenance Supervisor.
• Inspect exterior property and grounds, documenting any deficiencies.
• Mow lawns weekly during the appropriate season and clean landscaping tools after use.
• Trim bushes and maintain neat appearances.
• Weed flowerbeds weekly or more frequently as needed.
• Shovel snow from exterior walkways during winter and apply salt or sand to icy areas.
• Collaborate with team members, contribute to a professional customer environment, and maintain professional conduct with colleagues.
• Perform additional duties assigned by the supervisor.
