Goodyear – Roadside Technician

Starting pay: $18 per hour.

We are immediately hiring. This role is an emergency response tire technician for semi-truck fleets. When a customer experiences a tire-related failure, a Technician is dispatched to the customer's location to repair or change the tire. Technicians are expected to be on the roadside while performing their job duties. When no service calls are pending, Technicians will help mount orders, clean and organize the shop, and perform other general duties as needed.

Experience is not required. You will be trained in any skills required.

Shift Information

There is a mandatory on-call rotation. During an on-call period, Technicians are expected to run after-hours service calls and maintain a 95% accept rate, including weekends and nights. After-hours service calls are paid in double time with a minimum of 2 hours per call. For example, if a Technician accepts, arrives, and completes a call in 45 minutes they will receive an additional 1 hour 15 minutes of double-time pay.

Basic Requirements
  • Valid driver’s license meeting commercial driver qualification requirements.
  • At least 21 years of age.
  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship now or in the future.
Preferred Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous commercial service tire experience.
What Skills Will You Learn
  • Servicing commercial tires, including dismounting, mounting, and repairing any type of tire.
  • Performing match mounting, match mating dual assemblies, and radial runout as necessary.
  • Inflating tires to prescribed PSI per load requirements.
  • Complying with OSHA regulations and safety requirements, including wearing proper PPE, using tire cages, and following all safety policies and procedures.
