Job Summary

The Facilities Maintenance Technician will serve as a key team member who will report to the Facilities Manager and will be responsible for a wide variety of general repairs and services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Electrical (Ballasts, bulbs, parking lot lights, troubleshooting outlets, and identifying and resetting tripped breaker.)
  • Plumbing (General plumbing including repairing leaking faucets, replacing washer's faucets and seals on malfunctioning plumbing equipment snaking / cleaning clogged drains)
  • Painting (Brush and roller applications, plaster, drywall repair, Interior and exterior jobs)
  • Doors (Metal/wood, closers, hinges, sweeps ext.)
  • Furniture (Repair, drawers, adjustment, assembly)

Additional duties include:

  • Moving items as needed (i.e., furniture, file cabinets, boxes, etc.)
  • Delivery of office and building supplies to the correct departments and locations
  • Small appliance and equipment installation
  • Assist Facilities Manager and others on special projects as directed by Manager.
  • Responsible for the timely completion of all assigned facility work order requests.
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • High school diploma. Some technical / college education or minimum 5 years of work experience in facility maintenance field.
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Suites and facility management software.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English.
  • Teamwork mindset.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Basic safety knowledge.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and comply with all uniform requirements.
  • Maintain a regular and reliable level of attendance and punctuality.
Physical Demands
  • Required to stand, walk, talk, or hear, taste or smell.
  • Frequently required to use hands to fingers, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
  • Reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • May be required to periodically carry items weighing up to 25lbs.
Work Environment
  • Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
