Turn Vacant Apartments Into Someone’s Next Home.

We’re looking for an experienced and dependable Make Ready professional to join the maintenance team at One
90 Firewheel.

Your work directly impacts how quickly we can welcome a new resident home.

You’ll inspect vacant apartments, complete repairs, perform touch-up work, address maintenance issues, and make sure each home meets our standards before the next resident receives their keys.

If you take pride in your work, know your way around apartment repairs, and like seeing the finished result of a job done right, we’d love to meet you.

About the Opportunity

As Make Ready, your primary focus will be preparing vacant apartment homes for future residents.

You’ll work from make-ready and punch lists, complete general repairs, support preventive maintenance, and partner closely with property management, maintenance, and leasing teams to keep apartment turns moving on schedule.

This role is important to both the resident experience and the financial performance of the community. Every day a home sits unfinished is a day it can’t be leased.

We’re looking for someone who understands the importance of both quality and turnaround time.

What You’ll Own

  • Inspect vacant apartment homes and complete assigned make-ready or punch-list items
  • Prepare apartments for move-in according to established community standards and timelines
  • Complete general maintenance and repairs throughout vacant apartments
  • Perform drywall and sheetrock repairs
  • Complete touch-up painting and minor surface repairs
  • Repair or replace caulking around sinks, tubs, showers, windows, and other areas
  • Assist with flooring, tile, carpet, and vinyl repairs as needed
  • Complete minor plumbing, electrical, appliance, hardware, and fixture repairs within the scope of the role
  • Replace light bulbs, switches, fixtures, hardware, locks, and other apartment components when assigned
  • Inspect completed work to ensure apartments are clean, safe, functional, and ready for occupancy
  • Complete required make-ready checklists and maintenance documentation
  • Communicate additional repair needs or larger maintenance concerns to the maintenance leader
  • Support occupied-unit work orders and preventive maintenance when needed
  • Assist with exterior maintenance, common areas, amenities, grounds, and community projects
  • Help maintain pools, hot tubs, dog parks, recreation areas, or other amenities when assigned
  • Assist with trash-outs of vacated apartments
  • Maintain tools, supplies, and equipment responsibly
  • Follow all company safety, maintenance, and risk-management procedures
  • Provide professional and courteous service when interacting with residents, prospects, and team members

What Success Looks Like

  • Vacant apartments are completed within expected turn timelines
  • New residents enter homes that are clean, functional, and ready for move-in
  • Make-ready checklists are completed accurately
  • Repairs are performed correctly the first time
  • Maintenance leadership receives early communication about larger repair needs
  • Tools, materials, and supplies are used responsibly
  • The leasing team has an adequate supply of market-ready apartments
  • Community appearance and maintenance standards are consistently supported
