1st Shift

Schneider is seeking a Facilities Technician in Gary, IN to manage the day‑to‑day maintenance needs of Schneider’s buildings and grounds. The Facilities Technician will complete repairs, coordinate with maintenance vendors and handle other facilities‑related projects.

• Act as the facility contact for a Schneider location.
• Execute preventative maintenance.
• Respond to facility work requests in a timely manner.
• Handle all yard maintenance, including snow removal.
• Take care of cleaning‑related tasks.
• Coordinate and monitor all contractor activities taking place around the building.
• Solicit quotes from vendors regarding high‑cost repairs.
• Be on call during off hours to assist with facilities‑related work, when needed.

• High school diploma or GED.
• 2-4 years of related experience.
• Excellent facilities maintenance skills.
• Experience working with vendors and contractors.
• Familiarity with building mechanical systems and construction best practices.
• Valid driver’s license and meet Schneider’s DMV record standards.
