Airport Maintenance Technician
Under the supervision of the Airport Manager, performs a variety of skilled maintenance, mechanical activities and janitorial services to repair and maintain airport and county buildings, equipment, pavements, grounds and utilities. Maintains lights and equipment unique to the airport and other county facilities and operates snow removal equipment to keep runways, taxiways, roads, and parking lots free of snow and ice.
Provides services to pilots to include parking, towing and fueling of aircraft.

- High school diploma or equivalent and one year of progressively more responsible experience in facilities and grounds maintenance.
- The county, at its discretion, may consider an alternative combination of formal education and work experience.
- Michigan Vehicle Operator's License.
- Working knowledge of the equipment, methods, procedures, and tasks involved in building and facility maintenance and repair.
- Knowledge of the practices and safety issues involved in maintaining public facilities and grounds.
- Considerable knowledge and skill in the use of a variety of power and hand tools used for the repair and maintenance of buildings and property.
- Ability to operate lawn tractors, snowplows and other motorized vehicles.
- Able to read and follow instructions and equipment manufacturer's manuals.
- Basic written and verbal communication skills.
