Position Overview
Pest Control Technician – Licensed IDPH Technician.
Location: West Chicago, IL (Route: Elmhurst and surrounding areas).
Position Type: Full‑time (Monday‑Friday, occasional Saturdays).
Compensation: Base hourly plus commissions, with a $750 sign‑on bonus for a valid IDPH license.
- Operate a pest control route, applying pesticides following schedules, safety procedures, and label instructions.
- Maintain a daily schedule, arrive to customers’ homes on time, and use a company vehicle.
- Discuss scope of service with customers and assist in sales.
- Use in‑house training to determine the most efficient pest solution for each customer.
- Provide customers with pest control and eradication services and give estimates for one‑time treatments and ongoing maintenance.
- Complete all scheduled customer appointments on time in accordance with company policies and local regulations.
- Serve as the subject‑matter expert, implementing the most efficient pest solution for each customer’s needs.
- Use all safety equipment as instructed.
- Maintain professional appearance and keep equipment, vehicle, uniform, and documentation in working order.
- Devote full attention and time during working hours to the performance of duties as directed by supervisor and company.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid IDPH license (required for sign‑on bonus).
- Strong verbal, written, and in‑person communication skills.
- Customer‑service orientation and presentation skills.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform kneeling/bending tasks.
- Attention to detail and accurate record keeping.
- Self‑motivated and results‑driven.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Pass a background check and drug screen.
- Pest‑control experience preferred but not required.
- Ability to read simple instructions and memos, write basic correspondence, and use an iPad.
- Ability to effectively present information to customers, clients, and coworkers.
