Position Summary
The Custodian is a reliable and detail-oriented team-member with experience in maintaining clean, safe, and welcoming environments through diligent cleaning, sanitizing, and minor upkeep while also adhering to all safety protocols. The employee will demonstrate strong spiritual maturity while maintaining a clean and well-prepared building that supports the DCS mission.
RequirementsPreferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques, chemicals, and equipment (vacuums, buffers, etc.)
- At least 1 year of experience in a previous custodian position
- Strong time management, organization, and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Problem-solving and communication skills.
- Experience in grass cutting desired
- Maintain the facilities and usage of the school campus such that it reflects the joy of community and a spirit of cooperation among all
- Maintain the facilities and usage of the school campus such that the actions and interactions of staff, students, family and volunteers have every opportunity to reflect the DCS mission in a Christ-like, professionally operated, environment
- Work with maintenance staff to ensure readiness of facility and grounds for activities as planned
- Create a regular cleaning schedule
- Cleaning key hallways and bathrooms
- Bring concerns to the attention of the Facilities Coordinator or the maintenance department
- Assist the Facilities Coordinator in compiling quarterly janitorial supply orders
- Assist in minor maintenance of building ie. ceiling tiles, light bulbs.
- Expresses full commitment to uphold the DCS Statement of Faith and to serve in a way that is consistent with - and promotes - DCS beliefs, values, and mission.
- Is a Christian role model in attitude, speech, and actions. This includes being fully committed to God’s biblical standards for a Christian lifestyle.
- Maintains high standards of ethics, integrity, and appropriate confidentiality in all personal and professional matters.
