Goodwill of Delaware & Delaware County is looking for a dependable and motivated Janitorial Team Lead to oversee day-to-day cleaning operations at the Sussex County Courthouse in Georgetown, DE. • Lead, direct, and support a team of General Cleaners during each shift, ensuring all assigned duties are completed to standard.
• Conduct walk-throughs and quality checks to ensure cleaning tasks meet Goodwill’s standards and the client’s expectations.
• Assign tasks to team members and adjust workloads as needed based on coverage, priorities, and building needs.
• Train new team members on proper cleaning procedures, safety protocols, and use of equipment and supplies.
• Model best practices by actively participating in cleaning duties alongside the team, including mopping, vacuuming, restroom sanitation, and trash removal.
• Use wet or dry mop and/or auto scrubber to clean floors; promptly clean spills and hazards and place caution signs to maintain a safe environment.
• Ensure restrooms are cleaned, disinfected, and fully stocked at all times.
• Clean and sanitize fixtures, countertops, glass, elevators, and other high-touch surfaces.
• Vacuum carpets and rugs; sweep entryways, walkways, and remove litter from building exteriors.
• Monitor and manage supply inventory; inform supervisor when replenishment is needed and report equipment maintenance or repair needs.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding team performance, facility issues, and operational concerns.
• Secure the facility after the completion of janitorial duties, as applicable.
• Uphold and enforce all safety policies and procedures to protect customers, team members, and company assets.
• Work cooperatively with all internal and external customers to promote achievement of Goodwill’s mission.

• Prior experience in commercial cleaning, janitorial services, or facilities maintenance — required.
• Previous supervisory, team lead, or leadership experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of standard cleaning equipment, supplies, and best practices.
• Ability to lead by example, motivate others, and hold a team accountable with professionalism and care.
• Strong communication and organizational skills; able to manage priorities and adjust quickly.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to perform moderate to heavy lifting up to 30 lbs. and remain on your feet for extended periods.
• Flexible availability to work varied hours and days based on business needs.
• Reliable transportation to the Sussex County Courthouse in Georgetown, DE.
