Temporary Summer Residential Building Services Worker
Position Summary:
This is a full‑time, temporary summer position with University Housing. The primary function is to perform a variety of cleaning and related duties in and around the residence hall, supporting a community of approximately 1,000 residents.
- Clean, disinfect and sanitize sinks, tubs, showers, commodes and walls in bathroom areas.
- Clean glass, mirrors and windows.
- Vacuum carpets and walk‑off mats; maintain floor cleanliness.
- Clean furniture, light fixtures, walls, water fountains, fans, air vents, doors, kitchen appliances, ceilings, laundry rooms and trash chute areas.
- Clean baseboards and stairwells; mop, sweep, strip, wax and buff hard floors.
- Collect and remove trash and debris; clean trash receptacles and change liners.
- Maintain operational supplies such as soap, toilet tissue, paper towels and hand sanitizer.
- Stock custodial closets and carts with necessary chemicals, microfiber cloths and supplies.
- Operate floor equipment and tools safely.
- Perform summer project work (deep clean of rooms, common areas, windows, blinds, etc.).
- Receive and deliver mattresses, miscellaneous supplies, and goods.
- Pressure wash outside areas.
- Report damage or maintenance requests; report equipment needing repair.
- Participate in team meetings and attend training events.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Ability to work independently and with others.
- Effective time organization skills.
- Desire to create a clean and organized environment.
- English proficiency sufficient to communicate with staff and residents.
- Basic computer skills for using UGA websites and email.
- Physical ability to climb stairs, bend, lift up to 50 pounds, stand, kneel, or squat for long periods, and work in varied weather and humidity.
- Salary: $14.00 per hour.
- Schedule:
Monday – Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. - Location:
Athens, Georgia. - Start Date:
May 11 2026. Position filled when closed.
