Job OverviewAWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of AWS global infrastructure. As a Cleared Engineering Operations Technician, you will be a front‑line responder for hands‑on electrical and mechanical equipment troubleshooting and operation across data centers, supporting critical infrastructure such as generators, UPSs, PDUs, HVAC, and automation systems. You will work 24/7 shift coverage, often on 12‑hour rotating shifts, ensuring safety and reliability for the Intelligence Community customers.
Key Responsibilities- Operate and maintain mechanical and electrical equipment, including emergency generators and fire/life safety systems.
- Troubleshoot facility and rack‑level events within internal SLAs.
- Perform limited maintenance tasks such as filter changes, HVAC preventive maintenance, rack power installs, rack PDU, and rack ATS replacements.
- Provide support to Data Center Operations technicians.
- Conduct root cause analysis of equipment failures.
- Adhere to all safety procedures while performing work.
- Take daily operational readings of all mechanical and electrical equipment during routine rounds (temperatures, voltages, currents, etc.).
- Utilize internal CMMS to manage building workflows and spare part inventory.
- Supervise contractors performing servicing or preventive maintenance.
- Respond to off‑hour emergency calls per on‑call rotation for any of the region’s sites.
- Fully comply with all physical security procedures and policies.
- Drive innovation while reducing operational costs in the facilities.
- Manipulate small wires and objects.
- Walk job sites in uneven terrain.
- Work at heights and from ladders.
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 39 pounds; participate in group lifts for 40 pounds or more.
- Bend or twist the body into unusual positions while working.
- Push or pull heavy objects into position.
- Work in noisy environments.
Work a 12‑hour shift on rotating 3‑, 4‑, or 5‑day work weeks. You will be required to respond to off‑hour emergency calls on a rotating on‑call basis for the region’s sites.
Qualifications Basic Qualifications- 1+ year of electrical, mechanical, or data center/mission‑critical facilities experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current, active U.S. Government Security Clearance of Top Secret with SCI eligibility.
- U.S. citizen.
- 2+ years of data center engineering experience.
Plain City, OH – $32.00 – $57.00 USD hourly.
