Maintenance​/Cleaning Helper, Maintenance Technician ​/ Mechanic

We are looking for a Shop Helper to provide technical assistance in our shop in Georgetown, TX. You'll be operating devices and machinery, assisting in kit arrangements, preparing and handing over tools to mechanics, monitoring the inventory of supplies, and performing basic repairs as needed. You may also be asked to prepare and process documentation and assess and maintain working areas for cleanliness and safety.

You'll need to prioritize safety first, both your own and those around you.

What you'll do:

+ Assist Operators and Supervisors with operation, control, and monitoring of various equipment

+ Moving, loading and unloading pipe, fixtures, equipment, etc.

+ Cleaning work areas, machines, and equipment

+ Follow written procedures on shop orders and/or customer paperwork.

+ Perform simple maintenance tasks on equipment and facility.

+ Bring any irregularities or non-conformities to attention of supervisor or management

+ Promote safety and good housekeeping practices

+ Perform other tasks as assigned

What you'll need (minimum qualifications):

+ Excellent attendance is a must

+ Be able to pass a drug screen & background check

+ Ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs., bend, climb, stoop and stand

+ Must have the aptitude to learn basic knowledge of welding, pipe fitting/plumbing

+ Be very mechanically inclined

+ Must have the ability to report for work on time, follow directions, interact effectively with co-workers, understand and follow rules and procedures and accept constructive criticism

+ Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing

+ Comfortable with being regularly exposed to heat, dust, noise, humidity, fumes, etc.

Nice to have:

+ Experience or knowledge of the HVAC/Mechanical Contracting industries

+ Membership with the Plumbers & Pipe fitters Local Union (UA72)
