Materials Examiner AND Identifier; Forklift Operator Security Clearance

Position: MATERIALS EXAMINER AND IDENTIFIER (FORKLIFT OPERATOR) with Security Clearance
Location: Robins Air Force Base

Duties
* Performs a wide range of warehousing activities, including receiving, processing, storing, and shipping a variety of bin and bulk supplies, materials, equipment, and commodities.
* Performs unloading, stacking, binding, rotating, inspecting, processing and marking stock in accordance with standard warehouse procedures.
* Receives, unloads, screens, inspects and processes incoming shipments, reporting overages, shortages or damaged conditions.
* Performs inspection of a wide variety of complex categories of material and equipment to include electronic and aircraft components and parts, marine products, industrial production equipment, and other major end items and/or components. Requirements Conditions of employment

* Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Material Handling Equipment (MHE) license.
* Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid state driver's license/certification to operate government vehicles. Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a valid MHE license. Qualifications Applicants will be rated in accordance with the Office of Personnel Management Qualification Standard for Trades and Labor Occupations. Although a specific length of time and experience is not required, you must meet any screen-out element listed, and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties at the level for which you are applying.

Emphasis is placed on how you gained the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time, and the required ability or potential to perform the job. Applicants who do not meet the screen-out element (SOE) will be eliminated from further competition. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Physical Effort Stands on hard surfaces for extended periods of time. Bending, stooping, and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 pounds.

Uses weight handling equipment or receives assistance from other workers for items heavier than 40 pounds. Working Conditions Work is performed in a warehouse environment and outside containment areas on a year round basis. Work is usually performed in areas that are hot, cold, or damp. Subject to cuts, bruises, abrasions, and scrapes and are subject to hazards involved in working around moving equipment, i.e., fork lifts, trucks, cranes and conveyors.

When working with preservatives, may be exposed to noxious fumes, skin irritants, and flammable chemicals. If working with hazardous materials, must wear protective clothing, respirators or other specialized devices. in addition to basic protective equipment (hard hats, steel toed shoes, safety glasses, ear plugs, etc.).
