Job Summary

American Facility Services is seeking a dependable, hardworking, and detail-oriented Janitor/Custodian to help maintain a clean, safe, and healthy environment for students, staff, and visitors. The successful candidate will perform routine cleaning and custodial duties throughout school facilities and grounds.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize classrooms, offices, restrooms, cafeterias, hallways, and common areas.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and wax floors as needed.
• Empty trash receptacles and replace liners.
• Clean windows, glass doors, and other surfaces.
• Replenish restroom and cleaning supplies.
• Set up and arrange furniture for meetings, events, and school activities.
• Report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, or needed repairs.
• Secure buildings by locking doors and windows as required.
• Assist with seasonal cleaning and special projects.
• Follow all school district safety procedures and cleaning protocols.

Qualifications

• Strong attendance and reliability record.
• Previous custodial or janitorial experience is preferred but not required.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Pass criminal background screening
• Authorized to work in the US.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and climb ladders when necessary.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to operate custodial equipment and cleaning tools safely.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions when required.
