Die Service Technician - Transmission Manufacturing Plant

Pay Information

Starting pay $37.13 - $42.43 per hour

This position supports the maintenance of High Pressure Die Cast Dies. It includes supporting other Die Service Technicians, Staff and Team Leaders, and working with Production and Engineering teams to improve die maintenance and part quality characteristics.

• Respond to equipment emergency downtime, troubleshooting for root cause and repair as needed
• Support weekend preventive maintenance and repair activity when needed
• Support plant shut down activity
• Support overtime coverage when needed
• Support the engineering group in short/long-term projects
• Support root cause and countermeasure activity
• Document all die related activity in the equipment system (Maximo)
• Support training of other die service and other associates where needed

• Preferred 2 years in the mechanical and/or die mold maintenance field – Co‑Op acceptable

• Welding, Machining, Hand Finishing, Blueprint Reading
• Basic computer skills
• Strong decision‑making skills and troubleshooting skills

• Work in production environment requiring personal protective equipment and lockout in manufacturing operation
• Working near molten aluminum, hydraulic oils, cutting lubricants
• Hands‑on investigation and troubleshooting of product & die to countermeasure issues and to determine improvement activity
• Working with hand/power tools, quality gauging and instrumentation
• 90% manufacturing lineside activity / 10% office environment
• 10‑15 hours overtime per week
• Possible weekend or off‑shift support as necessary
• Travel 5% (domestic)
