Painter

Job Purpose

Paint walls, equipment, buildings, and other structural surfaces using brushes, rollers, and spray guns. May remove old paint to prepare surface prior to painting.

Guaranteed 40 hours per week. 4–10 hour days, 3 day weekends. Advanced pay option. Transportation, meals, and hotels covered. Great pay and benefits.

• Apply paint to building and other structures using a brush, roller, or spray gun.
• Cover surface with drop cloths, masking tape, or paper to protect during painting.
• Fill cracks, holes, and joints with caulk, putty, plaster, or other fillers.
• Remove fixtures such as doorknobs and switch covers prior to painting.
• Remove old finishes by stripping, sanding, and wire brushing.
• Sand, scrape, brush, and use steel wool to smooth surface.
• Erect scaffolding or set up ladders to work above ground level.
• Assist in center/agency surveys and any required reports.
• Attend continuing educational programs to stay abreast of field changes and maintain license/certification as required.
• Attend and participate in mandatory in‑services.
• Honor patients/residents’ rights of fair and equitable treatment, self‑determination, individuality, privacy, property and civil rights.
• Comply with corporate compliance program.
• Report job‑related functions/tasks involving occupational hazards.
• Follow established safety regulations, including fire protection, smoking, infection control, etc.
• Follow established safety procedures when performing tasks and/or working with equipment.
• Perform other related duties as necessary and as directed by supervisor.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2–4 years of experience.
• Some overnight travel may be required.
• Ability to make fast, simple repeated movements of the fingers, hand, and wrist.
• Ability to keep hand and arm steady while moving or holding position.
• Use or proper use of all tools or equipment that may be needed on the job.
• Perform work of the quality and standard that meets Pruitt Health’s standards.
• Follow the safety standards of the company and the standards set in the Health Care Centers.
• Demonstrate good workmanship in a neat and timely manner.
• Must be able to perform job duties as directed by supervisors.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisor, co‑workers, and the public.
• Exercise independent judgment within the limits of the position.
