I. POSITION PURPOSE
The Church and Parish Office Custodian helps St Nicholas in its mission to lead all to the Father through Jesus Christ, by ensuring that the parish facilities are maintained in a clean and orderly fashion and are “ready to be used.” The custodian helps provide a pleasant, clean environment in which our community works and worships, and in that helps raise their hearts and minds to the Father.

• Maintains the church building, parish office, and Old St Nicholas Church in a clean and orderly manner, including dry mopping floors, wet mopping floors, vacuuming carpets, cleaning bathrooms, laundering cleaning-related items, collecting and disposing of trash/recycling, and washing windows.
• Ensures the Church is clean and ready for Sunday Mass, Holy Days of Obligation, Funerals, Weddings, and other special events; tidies up after the weekend.
• Works with the Parish Hall Custodian to manage cleaning supplies, maintain an inventory, and coordinate with vendors to order new supplies as needed.
• Performs occasional deep cleaning as necessary (examples include carpet cleaning, waxing floors, scrubbing grout, polishing brass).
• Provides custodian coverage for other buildings as directed by the Parish administrator when other staff members are unavailable.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Able to lift 25 lbs.
• Able to climb a ladder

Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications.
