NATURE AND SCOPE OF JOB:

To perform duties of operation, care, cleaning, maintenance, and security of assigned facility and site. To provide a clean, comfortable, safe, attractive environment to promote the mission of the Campbell County School District: "Teaching Effectively - Learning Successfully".

JOB FUNCTIONS:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Participates in a daily work schedule of building cleaning and operation.

2. Vacuums all carpets daily in area of responsibility.

3. Cleans, sanitizes, services, and restocks restrooms daily.

4. Cleans and sanitizes drinking fountains daily.

5. Washes windows and frames as directed.

6. Cleans all chalkboards and trays daily.

7. Dust mops or damp mops all resilient or tile floors daily.

8. Empties waste and sanitary receptacles daily.

9. Dusts all dispensers daily.

10. Keeps all dispensers filled daily.

11. Replaces light bulbs as needed.

12. Cleans furniture as directed.

13. Operates physical plant equipment as needed.

14. May require entry into confined space as well as the use of respiratory equipment, consequently pulmonary functions test must be passed.

15. May be required to clean and inspect boiler system.

OTHER FUNCTIONS: "

1. Performs snow removal when required and shovels coal, if required.

2. Performs weekend and holiday building checks, cleaning as directed.

3. Provides assistance to building staff members on request.

4. Works at other CCSD facilities on request.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND MENTAL ABILITY:

Previous commercial cleaning experience helpful.

EDUCATION, LICENSE, CERTIFICATION, OR FORMAL TRAINING:

Reading ability adequate to follow directions resulting in making effective work decisions.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Lower body strength to stand/walk throughout work shift.

Upper body strength to lift 50 pounds and carry 50 feet.

Moderate exposure to weather extremes of minus 40 degrees Fahrenheit to positive 110 degrees Fahrenheit.

Frequent exposure to coal, sawdust, insulation, abrasives, and common dust.

Frequent exposure to various supplies, containing hazardous materials or chemicals.

Some employees may be occupationally exposed to blood borne pathogens and other potentially infectious materials based on task and procedures required.
