Summary

Must have appropriate training and/or background in a similar setting. Responsible for conducting all duties in a professional and ethical manner that reflects LCB’s values. Must be able to properly clean residents’ rooms and residence common areas including vacuuming, sweeping, dusting, polishing, mopping, disinfecting, etc. Discards waste into proper containers and assists with any general housekeeping duties necessary.

Essential Functions, Duties and Responsibilities

Promote the mission and core values of the Residence and LCB Senior Living to residents, visitors, co‑workers and the surrounding community.

As an associate you are expected to have an active role in growing community occupancy by representing and interacting positively with potential residents, family members and professionals.

Thoroughly clean bathrooms (toilet, vanity, sink, shower, shower seat and floor) with cleaning solution.

Clean kitchen areas completely; wipe counters and under objects, mop kitchen floors.

Empty wastebaskets and replace bags.

Dust and polish all surfaces.

Wipe off all surfaces; windowsills, woodwork and counters.

Clean carpets including vacuuming, shampooing, deodorizing, disinfecting, etc.

Clean all common areas and common bathrooms on a daily basis, and as often as needed.

Maintain housekeeping carts in a clean, orderly manner.

Any other assigned duties.

Attend required in‑service training and orientations.

Remove, fold and return bed linens.

Wash and fold linens.

Fill other positions as needed when someone is out.

Clean and wash windows.

Clean and dust blinds.

General pick‑up outside as needed.

Other duties as requested.

Physical and Environmental Demands

Finger and hand dexterity to handle and manipulate instruments and equipment. Visual and auditory acuity. Must be able to lift a minimum of twenty‑five (25) lbs., and be able to carry objects. Must be able to push and pull carts, and continuously walk, sit and stand. Must be able to turn, crouch, kneel, stoop, bend below waist, and reach above shoulder height as tasks dictate.

Must use good body mechanics. Must be able to use cleaning equipment, such as mops, brooms, vacuum cleaners, buffers, and chemicals in a safe manner. Must be able to perform routine, repetitive tasks with consideration for residents, visitors, and any worker in the area. Must project a positive attitude towards the service provided. Associate may be subject to potential exposure to blood or other potentially infectious materials, and to handling hazardous chemicals (either Category1 or2).

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Maintain a clean and neat environment; knowledge of cleaning practices and substances; ability to identify cleaning needs and safety hazards.
Ability to communicate in English both orally and in writing.
Frequent lifting, bending, stretching, kneeling and standing for extended periods of time.
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Previous housekeeping experience in health care or hospitality setting preferred.
Certificates/Licenses:
None required.
