Summary of Position:
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Supervisor will execute reliability, maintenance, and repair activities for production equipment, building and grounds to ensure maximum operational productivity and efficiencies. This hands-on role requires a high degree of technical expertise and involvement in CAPX projects, preventative maintenance, and repair work as needed to train and supplement the team.
Location: 85 West Army Trail Road, Glendale Heights, IL
Schedule: 5-day work week
Shift: 2nd Shift, 2:00pm to 10:30pm, Tuesday through Saturday
Overtime: OT is available

EssentialJob Responsibilities
- Maintenance:
Build strong, collaborative relationships with operations, production, and maintenance management teams. Provide critical information for analysis and recommendations. Identify, communicate, and address areas of concern. Use CMMS (MVP One) to oversee daily PM and M&R work orders and projects for equipment and the physical plant. Maintain a responsive maintenance request program to complete work according to plans, time, and budget. - Technical leadership:
Act as technical expert, trainer, and consultant to optimize troubleshooting and repairs. Provide hands-on assistance to the maintenance team for PM and M&R work as needed. - Performance and cost management:
Achieve or exceed KPIs. Review KPIs regularly, investigate shortfalls, and analyze ways to improve plant operations and OEE while stabilizing improvements. Control monthly maintenance spending in support of Clyde’s cost-conscious culture. - Shop and inventory:
Maintain a clean, organized maintenance shop and parts room with careful oversight of equipment, inventory, and supplies. - Leadership and safety:
Lead with optimism to foster a positive, professional team culture. Uphold productivity, continuous improvement, safety, food safety, and quality. Address performance issues, keep employees informed, and coach for skill development. Monitor and enforce safe work standards and procedures; conduct daily safety inspections, toolbox talks, and accident investigations, implementing retraining and corrective actions. - Food safety and quality:
Monitor and enforce food safety/quality requirements and GMPs; report issues to the Production Manager, Director of Food Safety, or Director of Quality. - Policy compliance:
Master company policies and procedures; hold the team accountable for compliance while serving as a role model and coach.
- Minimum seven years of industrial maintenance experience with at least two years in a supervisory or lead role.
- Strong technical knowledge in mechanical, fabrication, electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics, robotics, controls, and troubleshooting.
- Experience building and training a maintenance team.
- Experience with predictive and preventive maintenance programs and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
- Excellent planning and organizational skills.
- Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical discipline; or equivalent education, training, and experience (including associate degree in engineering/technical discipline). - Preferred:
Food processing experience. - Preferred:
Knowledge of LEAN principles and industry maintenance best practices. - Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (intermediate to advanced).
- Preferred: EHS experience.
