** Job Summary and Responsibilities*
* As our Maintenance Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing skilled mechanical maintenance and repairs on facility equipment and systems.
Every day you will troubleshoot, inspect, and maintain a wide range of machinery and building systems, executing preventative maintenance, responding to repair requests, and ensuring safe and efficient operation.
To be successful, you will demonstrate strong technical skills, meticulous attention to detail in diagnostics and repair, and the ability to work independently to minimize downtime and maintain operational continuity.
+ Responsible for maintaining and repairing the hospital. Performs wall patching, plastering, painting, floor repairs, drain cleaning, minor plumbing, and general building maintenance tasks. Repairs beds, furniture, doors, and other facility fixtures as needed. Replaces light bulbs and ballasts to ensure proper facility lighting.
+ Completes work orders within assigned deadlines and ensures follow-up with stakeholders. Maintains accurate daily logs for assigned tasks, ensuring proper record-keeping. Communicates work order updates to customers to meet expectations.
+ Responds effectively to fire alarms, evacuation needs, and emergency situations. Follows protocols for internal and external disaster situations (triage code). Ensures compliance with safety regulations and equipment training requirements.
+ Reports daily to the engineering leadership on facility conditions and progress of work. Assumes House Engineer responsibilities when assigned, ensuring smooth handovers between shifts. Ensures assigned areas remain safe and well-maintained according to regulatory standards.
+ Reads and interprets blueprints, diagrams, and equipment manuals.
+ Participates in team meetings and improvement initiatives to enhance service quality and reduce costs.
** Job Requirements*
* Required
+ High School Graduate or High School GED upon hire and
+ 1-3 years Two (2) years prior experience in general maintenance, related to the specific skills used on the job, upon hire
Preferred
+ 1-3 years One (1) year prior experience in healthcare maintenance, related to the specific skills used on the job, upon hire
