Laborer II
Full‑time state position providing matching contributions to employees’ retirement plans, 11 holidays, and at least 15 days of annual and sick leave. Comprehensive benefits package includes a benefit allowance to offset insurance premiums for employees and eligible dependents.
Position located at AFRC Sand Springs facility.
Basic Purpose
:
Perform traditional janitorial services and maintain essential janitorial supplies. Continuously monitor and inspect four assigned buildings for maintenance and repairs. Ensure safety for tenants and customers by keeping sidewalks, steps, parking lots and surrounding grounds clean at all times.
- Perform traditional janitorial services including vacuuming carpets, mopping/waxing floors, cleaning windows and glass, dusting, and proper disposal of trash and refuse.
- Keep bathrooms cleaned, including toilets, urinals, sinks, mirrors, partitions, floors, walls, fixtures, and paper supplies stocked.
- Maintain and monitor inventory of supplies needed to keep buildings properly stocked and clean.
- Order, receive, and stock supplies as needed to maintain proper levels for normal weekday operations and drill weekend use.
- Continuously monitor and inspect buildings for items requiring facility maintenance; dust and clean light fixtures and air registers regularly; replace burnt out light bulbs as needed; notify appropriate personnel of required maintenance.
- Keep building exterior sidewalks, steps, entryways swept, clean of debris, clear for building tenants and customers; keep snow and ice clear and spread ice‑melt as needed.
- Knowledge of tools, equipment, methods and practices of custodial, general building, and mechanical trades.
- Ability to follow simple oral instructions; skill to use hand tools and high‑speed power tools; perform less skilled aspects of mechanical and building trades; physically perform heavy manual labor.
- Six months of experience in building or institutional custodial work.
- Lift or carry a minimum of 60 pounds.
- Work in extreme environmental conditions (over 100°F and below 20°F).
- Work from various building heights.
- Contingent on a favorable NCIC/OSBI background check.
- Contingent on passing a pre‑employment drug & alcohol screening.
- T1 security clearance (Eligibility for national security positions granted only to U.S. citizens).
- Maintain a valid driver’s license.
- Non‑exempt FLSA status.
- Tobacco and vape‑free facility.
- 12‑month trial period.
- Contingent on continuous federal funding.
