Duties
School Social Worker Intern Grades 3-5: 26-27 School Year (August-June)
Reports To:
School Social Worker Site Supervisor/Asst. Superintendent of Student Services
Essential Job Functions:
Under the Supervision of a Certified School Social Work Supervisor, Intern will demonstrate:
* The ability to work collaboratively with others to optimize student achievement.
* A willingness to participate in staff development opportunities.
* A strong commitment to professional excellence.
Internship experiences will include the following:
Provision of Direct Services
* Counseling support for students-both individual and skills group
* Risk assessment and crisis support
* Providing consultation and training to staff and parents as needed
* Providing training for parents and staff as needed
* Participating in the development and implementation of mental health preventative strategies
Supporting efforts to build a responsive system through MTSS
* Demonstrating an understanding of individual and group counseling techniques
* Participating in building based and district level MTSS activities
* Engaging in SEL Data Day activities as part of the a larger MTSS system
* Selecting appropriate assessment instruments
* Conducting assessments appropriately
Designing Individualized Educational Programs
* Developing individualized goals and objectives based on assessment results providing long-range student planning
* Fully participating in the IEP process
Case Management
* Participating with the building Student Services Team
* Monitoring implementation of student I.E.P.s
* Managing and coordinating required paperwork
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Enrolled in a Master's level school School Social work program leading toward state certification.
Salary Range: $10,000
