Instructional Aide Substitutes School-Based | Glenview, IL | Per Diem
Flexible, as-needed opportunities are available for compassionate Instructional Aides to provide one-on-one support to students within a structured school environment. This role is ideal for professionals who are committed to making a tangible difference in students' academic, behavioral, and social development.
Key Responsibilities- Provide academic, behavioral, and social support to students in classroom settings
- Assist students individually or in small groups as directed by educators and school staff
- Support daily routines, transitions, and classroom engagement
- Implement behavior support plans and follow Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) when applicable
- Aid with mobility, supervision, and personal care while maintaining a safe, inclusive environment
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum age of 18 years
- Ability to pass TB testing as required by school policies
- Physical ability to stand, walk, and assist with lifting when necessary
- Current clearances or willingness to obtain prior to starting
- Prior work in schools, special education, behavioral health, or childcare settings
- Experience supporting students with special needs, autism, or behavioral challenges
- Training or certification in CPI, PMT, or RBT (preferred but not required)
- Reliable, patient, and able to work collaboratively within a team
