We’re hiring fun, hardworking, dedicated, enthusiastic individuals! In this role, you will bring history and science to life working with children and visitors at the Grove National Historic Landmark and Air Station Prairie. You’ll help provide the best in customer service while implementing safe, fun, and educational programs and activities. Such activities include, but are not limited to, history tours, school field trips, nature walks, family programs, drop‑in programs, birthday parties, special events, scouting programs, and much more.

• Presenting educational and entertaining programs.
• Working independently and as part of a team to implement programs and special events.
• Maintaining program materials and spaces.
• Participating in meetings and trainings as required.
• Monitoring the implementation of programs, policies, and practices.
• Working with supervisors, coordinators, and staff to keep programs running on schedule and functioning smoothly.
• Building & maintaining positive relations with staff and program participants.
• Supporting program growth and development by up‑selling programs and soliciting volunteers and participants for events.

• Previous experience working at museums, other living history sites, nature centers, or in an entertainment or service field is highly desired; or candidates working towards or having a degree in History, Education, or Environmental Sciences.
• Qualified candidates must have excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, enthusiasm, and must enjoy working with the public, specifically children.
• Must be able to provide educational programming and work with audiences of all ages in a public speaking setting.
• Must be willing to handle animals including snakes and turtles and wear historical clothing for historical reenactment.
• Must be comfortable working outdoors and walking for extended periods of time.

This is a year-round, part-time position, working between 5-20 hours/week. Availability for weekdays, weekends, some evenings, and occasional overnight programs is required, with schedules varying based on event needs. Pay range is $15-$20 per hour, depending on qualifications.
