Description:
Anticipated Special Education Teacher (LBS1) for Instructional Life Skills opening for the 2026-27 school year.
Primary
Purpose:
Provide students with appropriate instructional supports and experiences to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical and social growth as aligned in the District's Strategic Plan. This collaborative, multi-faceted role includes:
- Planning for instruction and assessment on an individual and program basis.
- Planning with colleagues at the building and district level to promote student learning and the success of all learners.

Qualifications:
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License with one of the following:
- LBS1 endorsement (PreK-Age 21) endorsement
- Early Childhood Special Education endorsement or approval
- Previous experience and passion for working with students with complex needs preferred
- Previous experience with Comprehensive Literacy for All Framework preferred
- Previous experience with Integrated Assistive Technology preferred
- Previous experienced with Structured Teaching preferred
Working Conditions:
Full-time (1.0 FTE), 10-month position starting August 2026 through early June 2027. Certified Staff work 185 days per school year.
- At times, perform the physically demanding job functions, strength and/or endurance for lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling are occasionally required.
