Job Title
Scientist, R&D – Product Development (Hydration)
Job PurposeThis role leads product development initiatives for beloved brands such as Capri Sun, Kool-Aid, and Crystal Light within the Hydration, Desserts, and Meals platform, driving technical projects to support business growth and brand maintenance.
Responsibilities- Develop new product formulations, portfolio renovation, and customer product solutions across various product lines.
- Lead projects from ideation to commercialization, managing benchtop samples to final production and specification.
- Coordinate multiple concurrent assignments, ensuring timely completion of R&D milestones.
- Build strong internal and external relationships to optimize new product development processes.
- Use ingredient knowledge, experimental design, and data interpretation to recommend technically sound decisions.
- Champion innovative approaches and influence cross‑functional partners.
- Lead product testing, qualification, and commercialization in laboratory and production environments.
- Collaborate with teams within and outside the immediate department to support commercialization activities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Engineering, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biological Engineering, or a related scientific field.
- Minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree with at least one (1) year of related experience.
- Experience with formulating powdered beverage and/or juice beverages preferred.
- Strong knowledge of ingredient functionality and interrelationships.
- Excellent communication, influencing, prioritization, and project management skills.
- Strong critical‑thinking abilities and connection to the big picture.
- Ability to lead, coach, and motivate others.
- Self‑motivated and able to multitask across complex projects.
- Willingness to travel approximately 30% of the time (internal plants, co‑manufacturers, suppliers).

Work Environment & ScheduleNormal office environment with moderate travel to customer locations, stores, and manufacturing facilities. Offices are open work spaces.
CompensationBase salary range: $77,800.00 – $97,300.00. Eligible for performance‑based bonus as provided by the plan terms and governing documents.
