Senior Tax Analyst

Description & Requirements

The Senior Tax Analyst will be responsible for Sales and Use Tax / Governmental reporting for key business units. They will coordinate with local accounting teams to facilitate and be responsible for timely and accurate reporting of Sales and Use Tax filings. This includes NEXUS analysis and other governmental reporting. This position will report to Corporate Tax Team but be responsible for associated compliance of assigned business unit.

This will have a dotted line with local / regional accounting leadership.

• Prepare U.S. sales & use tax and property tax across multiple states, including filings, processing payments, reconciling corresponding tax accounts
• Monitor for associated NEXUS and other location specific filings
• Renew business licenses, assist registrations or deregistration
• Coordinate and manage sales and use tax audits, including liaising with tax leadership, local accounting leadership, regulators and professional service firms
• Work with credit team and maintain customer sales tax exemption certificates and resale certificates to ensure compliance
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide assistance to the Corporate Tax team as needed
• Monitor and research changes in state and local tax laws and regulations to ensure ongoing company compliance
• Organize and update the company's sales tax database and ensure accuracy of financial data
• Additional duties or special projects as assigned

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting; CPA designation a plus
• 2+ years working with sales and use tax
• Experience in distribution environment preferred
• Experience working for a public accounting firm a plus. Slight preference tax
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong demonstrated communication skills
• Ability to multi-task with attention to detail
• Effective, efficient functioning in fast paced environment. PE portfolio company experience a plus
• AS400 / Iseries and/or One Stream experience a plus
• Ability to physically sit at a desk for long periods, operate a computer, and listen/speak clearly on the phone and in-person.
• Ability to pass job-related employment screenings.
