We are currently seeking an Actuarial Assistant to join our team. Since 1936, GTL has offered cutting‑edge insurance solutions and personalized service for our policyholders and distributors, while supporting personal growth and civic involvement from our employees.

This position requires working on‑site in our Chicagoland (Glenview, IL) office most days, with 3 flexible remote days per month and 6 additional Friday PTO days each year. We also offer half‑day Fridays every week.

It is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic team of actuaries and work on a variety of health and life products, including product development, pricing, and analysis. You will gain hands‑on experience with actuarial tools and contribute to ongoing projects, with the possibility to support your progression toward an actuarial designation through our competitive student program.

• Support new product development work including pricing analysis, projections, competitive analysis, and sensitivity testing.
• Help with rate filings.
• Conduct ongoing experience studies.
• Develop new and improve existing experience studies and methodologies.
• Work with internal stakeholders to react to changes in product experience.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes.

• Bachelor’s degree.
• 1‑5 years of relevant actuarial experience.
• Proven exam success and working toward ASA designation.
• Experience working with complex spreadsheets and large databases.
• Proficiency with Excel; experience with SAS or SQL is a plus.
• Ability to effectively communicate with non‑actuarial staff.

• High level of organization, able to balance multiple priorities.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

• Programming experience.
• Experience with actuarial modeling software.

The pay range provided is not a guarantee of compensation. The range reflects potential pay for the job grade for this role at the time of this posting. Compensation will depend on several factors such as specific competencies, relevant education and experience, qualifications, and industry certifications. Compensation ranges are subject to change and may be higher or lower than the range described above.
