Job Summary
GDIT is seeking a Secondary Firearms Instructor (SFI) to provide world‑class firearms training to federal clients. The SFI will support the Lead Firearms Instructor (LFI) during Federal Flight Deck Officer (FFDO) Requalification training sessions and deliver individual instruction to law‑enforcement students.

• Assist the LFI with preparation, completion, and post‑session clean‑up for all FFDO semi‑annual firearms requalification sessions.
• Ensure student safety during dry‑fire and live‑fire training venues.
• Deliver one‑on‑one instruction during the pre‑qualification (warm‑up) course and remedial training as directed.
• Communicate training concepts and issues to a diverse audience using principles of adult education and platform instruction for law enforcement.
• Interpret, apply, and adhere to program policies, SOPs, and lesson plans.
• Secure all Sensitive Security Information (SSI) and Sensitive Personally Identifying Information (SPRe) in compliance with TSA MD 2100.2, Policy 1400.3, and related regulations.

• Minimum 5 years of formal instructor experience in firearms, defensive tactics/measures, and use of force.
• Current or former certified law‑enforcement official or civilian employee; completion of a military, state, county, or municipal firearms training program.
• Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work/military experience.
• Compliance with all federal, state, and/or local requirements.
• Successful completion of a security application and background investigation clearance.

The position is performed at indoor or outdoor gun ranges. Employees handle weapons and ammunition, are exposed to high noise levels (must wear hearing protection), and must wash hands after handling ammo. Physical effort may be required for handling light materials and equipment.
