Long-Term Substitute Behavior Specialist

Long-term substitute behavior specialist is needed from August through mid-October 2026! The behavior specialist will work collaboratively with educators, administrators, and support staff to develop and implement behavior intervention plans and directly support students exhibiting challenging behaviors. The behavior specialist will have expertise in behavioral analysis, special education, or psychology, preferably holding a BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst) certification, LBS1 (Learning Behavior Specialist), or a relevant psychology degree.

Qualifications include a master's degree preferred in school psychology, special education, counseling, school social work, or a related field. Preferred certifications include BCBA, LBS1, or licensed/certified psychologist-social worker. Experience working with elementary-aged children in an educational setting is required. Strong understanding of behavioral analysis and intervention techniques is necessary. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential. Ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality is required.

Ability to work collaboratively, create and maintain effective relationships with others within a team-based environment is needed.

Performance responsibilities include crisis intervention, assessment and evaluation, intervention planning, training and support, collaboration, data collection and reporting, and performing other duties as assigned. The long-term sub rate is $313.38 per day. Primary schools (minimal travel between schools within the district) are the location. The term is August 2026-mid-October 2026. Reports to the assistant superintendent for student services.
