Position: Registered Nurse - OR - Multiple Locations

Hourly Pay Range

$36.00 - $55.80. The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors. This application is an evergreen opportunity, which means by applying once, you’ll be considered for current and future RN openings across our system.

What You Will Do
  • Develop a plan of care that identifies interventions to achieve expected outcomes.
  • Evaluate patient progression toward attainment of outcomes and systematically revise diagnosis, interventions, and expected outcomes as needed.
  • Provide patient assessment and collection of health data involving patient, family and other health care providers.
  • Communicate plan of care to patient and family regularly, respecting the patient’s wishes through acknowledgment of patient/family perceptions of health and illness and mutual goal setting for optimal outcomes.
  • Communicate patient data to physician and interdisciplinary team as indicated to achieve patient care needs.
  • Document patient health data, interventions, and communications.
  • Individualize patient and family teaching based on thorough assessment to meet specific learning needs.
  • Assess patient’s cultural background, learning style, learning barriers, and modify teaching plan accordingly.
  • Provide teaching on disease management strategies, emergency care and drug information when appropriate.
  • Identify community resources to support patient self‑management of disease.
  • Interact with and contribute to professional development of peers, students and other health care providers.
  • Share knowledge, provide feedback and contribute to an environment supportive of clinical education.
  • Assign or delegate tasks as needed.
  • Provide psychological support in a nurturing compassionate environment.
  • Assist technical staff with injection of contrast, venipuncture, and administration of drugs, oxygen therapy, and IV management.
  • Participate in performance improvement activities and nursing research.
  • Keep abreast of research and practice trends in wound/ostomy/skin care through participation in professional networking, ongoing education, and self‑directed learning activities.
  • Support staff in using research and providing evidence‑based care.
  • If skilled, conduct daily rounds of wound/ostomy/skin care patients.
  • Monitor effectiveness of wound/ostomy treatment plans and other aspects of wound/ostomy/skin care.
  • Comply with HIPAA regulations.
  • Assist in the transporting of acutely ill patients as needed.
What You Will Need
  • Education:

    Successful completion of an associate's degree or BSN from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Certification:
    Registered Nurse (RN) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) active Illinois State Nursing License required.
  • Certificate:
    Basic Life Support (BLS) - through AHA.
  • Experience:

    Previous OR experience strongly preferred.
