JC Licht, founded in 1907, is a full‑service paint, hardware, and decorating retail destination featuring Benjamin Moore products. With 66 locations throughout Chicago, Wisconsin, and Indiana, the company offers exciting growth opportunities in this region. The Glenview location is seeking a Management Trainee to support store operations and customer service.

• Monitor store operations and profitability, providing support to the store as needed.
• Recruit, select, and hire store team members, ensuring employees have product knowledge and deliver excellent customer service.
• Maintain a team‑oriented environment through good communication and supervision.
• Conduct performance reviews and administer disciplinary action in accordance with company policy.
• Ensure compliance with federal/state regulations and company policies, including ADA, EEOC, Workers Compensation, and Sexual Harassment.
• Maintain appropriate inventory levels, control inventory losses, and manage expenses.
• Open and close the store in accordance with company policy, complete all paperwork reports accurately and timely.
• Maintain merchandising standards, including window and sales floor displays.
• Participate in store activities such as unloading trucks, stocking shelves, and delivering merchandise.
• Monitor accounts payable, accounts receivable, and banking procedures; use business reports to identify sales, gross margin, and expense control opportunities.
• Assist customers professionally and promptly, resolving issues and providing knowledgeable assistance for all product lines.
• Ensure the physical appearance of the store and equipment maintenance.
• Suggestively sell additional merchandise to assist customers with their projects.
• Provide support in developing new accounts and increasing sales of current accounts through targeted sales initiatives.
• Ensure commercial accounts are properly set up and administered, assisting with outside sales calls when necessary.
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures outlined in the JC Licht Employee Handbook.

• Two or four year college degree or equivalent work experience.
• Effective financial planning and management skills.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills.
• Minimum of 2 years retail experience, preferably industry related. Background in inside sales a plus.
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds; willing to work up to 50 hours per week.

$19-$22 per hour depending on experience.
