Overview
Hourly Pay Range: $18.84 - $27.32. The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Evenings 2:00pm – 10:30pm
Days:
Thursday – Monday
- Provide unarmed uniformed security and safety related services under general supervision in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Patrol assigned areas of facilities and grounds on foot or by motorized vehicle, investigate unusual occurrences, and report incidents affecting hospital, employee, patient, or visitor property.
- Report incidents involving loss, theft, vandalism, or potential harm; involve police when necessary and assist during investigations.
- Respond to service calls in a timely, safe, professional, and courteous manner.
- Assist customers by providing directions and escorting individuals to destinations when possible.
- Direct vehicle traffic around hospital facilities to prevent congestion; monitor loading docks and ambulance unloading zones; issue parking citations as needed and maintain records.
- Physically restrain unruly individuals when required and involve police when necessary, including providing court testimony.
- Administer control measures to protect patient and employee valuables and hospital equipment; monitor lost and found items.
- Check doors and windows for secure locking; inspect equipment, alarms, fire extinguishers, and other safety systems; notify appropriate personnel of problems.
- Investigate and document thefts, accidents, and other incidents to obtain evidence and support conclusions; prepare clear and complete documentation.
Required Education and/or Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of one year of experience in a customer-focused service-based organization
Preferred Education and/or Experience:
- Two or more years of experience in law enforcement, military, or private security
- Experience in a healthcare environment
- Fundamental understanding of computers, loss prevention, and fire/security technology
Required License and/or Certification:
- Valid Illinois Firearm Owner's Identification Card within 90 days of start date
- Current CPR certification (American Heart Association or Red Cross) within 90 days of start date
- Valid driver’s license; if using personal vehicle, maintain automobile liability coverage as required by law
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) certification within six months of hire
Preferred License and/or Certification:
- IAHSS Basic Healthcare Security Officer certification within twelve months of start date
