Overview
Performs a full range of custodial duties and leads a crew related to the care, cleaning, stocking of supplies, and minor maintenance of assigned buildings, equipment, and facilities. Ensures that the Roaring Fork School Districts are meeting the Building Cleaning Standards. This position is considered essential.
SupervisionReceives direct supervision from the Custodial Supervisor. May occasionally receive supervision from the Assistant Custodial Director. Will receive day-to-day direction from the Principal and Assistant Principal if acting as a Head Custodian. Provides direction to custodians as related to special events and school functions.
Primary Duties- Receive and deliver all district custodial supplies, materials, and equipment to appropriate sites. Deliver school packages in the summer break delivered to the Operations Center. Move equipment and materials within the district.
- Pick up and deliver supplies, materials and equipment from suppliers and vendors in and out of the District.
- Work cooperatively with the Assistant Custodial Director to assure all equipment is properly and accurately inventoried and tagged. Assist in property disposition and public auction website.
- Receive shipments of annual orders for the District and help prepare individual site orders for delivery.
- Pick and pack orders from all district schools on a weekly basis. Coordinate and schedule deliveries. Maintain necessary paperwork to ensure that all pickups and deliveries are accounted for.
- Make a daily inspection of the vehicle assigned to drive.
- Maintain a good driving record.

- Maintain punctual and regular attendance.
- Establish and maintain working relations with staff, students, and the public.
- Observe strict confidentiality regarding student and personnel information.
- Assists with requisition and purchase of supplies and materials as required.
- Responsible for inventory of the warehouse.
- Leads building custodians to ensure that buildings are kept clean and safe while working as a Rover.
- Clean, disinfect and deodorize restroom facilities and fixtures including sinks, urinals, and toilets, maintain fixtures and replenish supplies in restrooms.
- Clean and sanitize all drinking fountains.
- Clean, sanitize and deodorize the cafeteria or other common areas where students eat meals.
- Empty and clean waste receptacles.
- Clean and maintain order in storage supply closets.
- Monitor outside grounds conditions and cleanliness; empty waste receptacles.
- Identify any building safety hazards and report to the supervisor.
- Assist in the snow removal from sidewalks or other areas surrounding the buildings.
- Secure facilities after working hours.
- May be assigned to any district buildings in the absence of other Head custodians and custodians.
- Assists in holiday and summer cleaning projects and schedules with the building principal.
- Maintain S.D.S ( Safety Data Sheets)
- Sweep, vacuum, mop, wax, strip, and polish floors using a variety of chemicals, cleansers and equipment, vacuum and shampoo carpets, and upholstered furniture.
- Dust and polish furniture, woodwork, fixtures, and equipment; wash windows, mirrors, walls, and ceilings.
- Move and arrange furniture and equipment and set up rooms for meetings and special functions.
- Maintain custodial equipment in proper working conditions. Asset equipment.
- During the summer or other breaks throughout the year, deep clean buildings.
- Reports to work on time and accurately record time worked; may need to adjust work schedule due to weather conditions, emergencies, or other work-related projects; work overtime as needed.

- Independently perform the most difficult custodial work.

- Provide day-to-day direction to custodial staff
- Read and understand cleaning chemical mixture and application directions and MSDS
- Perform simple and repetitive tasks
- Perform manual labor in unfavorable weather conditions.
- Maintain security of buildings and facilities
- Work irregular hours
- Work independently in the absence of supervision
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
