English as a Second Language (ESL) Grades 6 - 8 General Education Teacher | Glenwood, Illinois

This contract role is dedicated to supporting diverse learners across 5th through 8th grades, with responsibilities spanning both a middle school (5th/6th grade) and a junior high (7th/8th grade) setting - splitting the workweek evenly between both.

As the English Language Teacher (ESL), you’ll deliver impactful, direct instruction and foster a welcoming classroom environment. You’ll play an instrumental role in students' language development, academic achievement, and personal growth. The position is full time, Monday through Friday, for 37.5 hours per week.

• Active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with ESL endorsement for grades 5-8 (minimum requirement)
• Preference given to those with a bilingual endorsement (PEL)
• Proven experience teaching general education or ESL in grades 5-8
• Confidence managing multi-grade classrooms and adapting teaching methods to various learning needs
• Commitment to student-centered, inclusive education

• Lead your own classroom, establishing a supportive environment for English language learners across 5th-8th grades
• Administer, proctor, and grade assessments to gauge student progress
• Develop and deliver engaging lessons tailored to student proficiency levels and backgrounds
• Implement effective instructional strategies that inspire and encourage language acquisition
• Collaborate with colleagues, resource teachers, and administrators to optimize student outcomes

Compensation for this role ranges from $37.50 to $46.75 per hour, commensurate with your experience, degree level, and teaching credentials.
