Job Description
Colorado School of Mines is seeking Custodian I employees for night and weekend shifts. The role involves maintaining the cleanliness of campus facilities, ensuring a safe, comfortable, and aesthetically pleasing environment for faculty, staff, students, and visitors.
Schedule & Shift- Night and weekend shifts only
- Sunday - Thursday 5:00 pm - 1:30 am (shift differential may apply)
- Occasional openings on other shifts may be filled at the recruiter's discretion.
- Shift differential rates:
- Regular rate applies between 6:00 am - 4:00 pm (no differential)
- Second shift differential 7.5% for half or more of hours between 4:00 pm - 11:00 pm
- Third shift differential 14% for half or more of hours between 11:00 pm - 6:00 am
- Weekend differential 20% for more than half of hours on weekend shift (4:00 pm Friday - 6:00 am Monday)
Starting wage $20.39 per hour with potential shift differential of 7.5% - 20%.

- Six months of custodial or closely related experience (must be substantiated in the work experience section; resume alone is not acceptable)
- Experience includes sweeping, mopping, cleaning restrooms, emptying trash, general dusting, and vacuuming in an office or school environment
- Previous relevant experience as a state employee
- Experience with industrial cleaning equipment and appliances
- Job knowledge: familiarity with custodial practices and procedures
- Communication and interpersonal skills: strong communication to interact with team, students, and staff
- Initiative and accountability: take initiative and work productively with team to achieve collaborative goals
- Organization and prioritization: ability to organize and prioritize work
- Attention to detail: strong focus on accuracy and task prioritization
- Time management: ensure completion of duties within specified time frames
- Problem solving: ability to resolve problems promptly
- Customer service: provide exemplary service to students, staff, and customers
