About The Role

As a CBRE Union Building Engineer, you will be responsible for monitoring building system operations and performance. You will oversee areas such as plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, heating, and cooling. This position is part of the Engineering and Technical Services function and involves providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems.

What You’ll Do
  • Perform maintenance and repairs to mechanical, plumbing, structural, furniture, fire, life safety, and control systems. Keep the systems up to applicable standards as assigned.
  • Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agencies, and company directives related to building operations and work safety.
  • Maintain an energy management program to ensure all systems operate efficiently.
  • Assist with implementing a preventive maintenance program so building machinery and systems meet or exceed their rated life. Perform emergency repairs as needed.
  • Follow departmental policies for the safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials. Maintain a clean and safe workplace.
  • Review inspections of building systems—including fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing—to ensure equipment operates within design capabilities and meets client‑prescribed environmental conditions.
  • Apply general knowledge of standard principles, techniques, and procedures to accomplish assigned tasks and solve routine problems.
  • Demonstrate a broad knowledge of your own discipline and some knowledge of several disciplines within the function.
  • Lead by example and model behaviors consistent with the company’s RISE values, and be ready to convince others to reach agreement.
  • Impact the quality of your own work and that of others on the team.
  • Work primarily within standardized procedures and practices to achieve objectives and meet deadlines.
  • Explain complex information to others in straightforward situations.
What You’ll Need
  • High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 3‑4 years of job‑related experience. In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered. Universal CFC certification is preferred. Certifications/licenses may be required by local or state jurisdictions.
  • Meet the physical requirements, including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
  • Understanding of existing procedures and standards to solve slightly complex problems.
  • Ability to analyze possible solutions using technical experience and apply appropriate judgment and precedents.
  • In‑depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
  • Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset.
  • Advanced math skills, including the ability to calculate percentages, fractions, and other financial‑related calculations.

The pay range for this position is $46.53 per hour. Please refer to the Collective Bargaining Agreement regarding pay scale.
