NDT Technician

Job Overview

West Star Aviation is seeking an NDT Technician in Grand Junction, CO. This full-time, on-site position requires proficiency in non-destructive testing techniques and a willingness to work nights, weekends, and varying hours as needed. The role involves disassembly, cleaning, testing, and post-cleaning of parts, maintenance of equipment, and adherence to FAA guidelines.

• Perform supervised NDT tasks, including disassembly, cleaning, preparation, testing, and post-cleaning of parts.
• Maintain certifications (NDT Level I, II, or III per NAS 410) and re-certify periodically as required.
• Carry out maintenance and repair of shop facility, equipment, and tooling.
• Use basic computer skills to navigate electronic training, manuals, and maintenance databases.
• Communicate clearly in English (written and spoken).
• Complete any other job-related duties assigned by supervisor or management.
• Work safe around x-radiation and adapt to varying exam methods and specifications.
• Attend scheduled work, including overtime and weekend assignments, with reliable transportation.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Airframe and Powerplant License preferred.
• Valid driver’s license approved for airline travel and/or a valid passport is ideal.
• Minimum experience required by NAS 410, with all experience properly documented.
• Self-motivated, team-player with ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to qualify for FAA regulations, maintain integrity, and follow safety rules.

• Lift up to 50 lbs.
• Routine walking, bending, squatting or sitting; repetitive arm and hand motion.
• Pass an eye test for vision and color blindness.
• Climb ladders and stairs; work in small restricted areas; stand for long periods.
• Understand and implement regulations and guidelines; troubleshoot system operation.
• Work professionally with others.

• Hourly rate: $29-$45 (varies by location, experience, performance).
• Shift differential for alternate shifts.
