Environmental Services Tech Housekeeping

Job Description

This position is responsible for performing general housekeeping tasks to maintain facilities and associated buildings in a sanitary, safe, and attractive condition, and to meet hospital and Joint Commission standards.

• Hourly Rate: $17.68 - $22.99 (actual rate dependent on experience)

• Clean and disinfect assigned areas using department cleaning procedures.
• Use cleaning chemicals properly according to Joint Commission and OSHA standards.
• Properly dispose of infectious waste and trash following procedures.
• Handle and clean up emergency spills per department guidelines, Joint Commission, and OSHA standards.
• Follow all infection prevention practices (proper cleaning and disinfection protocols, hand hygiene, standard and isolation precautions, and proper donning and doffing of PPE).
• Maintain work and storage areas following established policy and procedures to ensure safety.

• Demonstrated communication skills, including interpreting color-coded labels and following written and/or verbal directions.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule when needed to meet department needs.
• Professional housekeeping experience (preferred).

• Require ability to see, read information, labels, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and assess customer needs.
• Frequent interactions with customers demanding quick and accurate communication of spoken information, alarms, and needs.
• Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment, including frequent use of computer, phone, and cable setup.
• Expected to lift, pull, push, and transport equipment and supplies of varying weights, up to heavy items, including work on hands and knees, bending, and full range of motion.
