Maintenance Manager
Maintenance Manager oversees all maintenance operations, ensuring equipment, facilities, and systems are efficiently maintained, safe, and operational while managing staff, budgets, and preventive programs.
A Maintenance Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing all maintenance activities to ensure minimal downtime and optimal performance of equipment and facilities.
- Supervising Maintenance Staff:
Hire, train, and evaluate technicians, ensuring adherence to safety and performance standards, and providing coaching and development opportunities. - Preventive and Corrective Maintenance:
Develop and implement maintenance schedules, perform inspections, and oversee repairs of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and automated systems. - Budget and Resource Management:
Track maintenance expenses, manage budgets, and ensure availability of spare parts, tools, and materials through forecasting and inventory control. - Compliance and Safety:
Ensure all maintenance activities comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations. - Operational Efficiency:
Monitor maintenance KPIs, optimize workflows, and implement continuous improvement initiatives to reduce downtime and costs. - Vendor and Contractor Coordination:
Liaise with external service providers for specialized maintenance tasks and equipment servicing. - Emergency Response:
Respond promptly to equipment failures or facility emergencies to minimize operational disruptions.
- Technical Expertise:
Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and control systems, as well as facility management and automated manufacturing processes. - Leadership and Communication:
Ability to lead teams, communicate effectively across departments, and resolve conflicts. - Experience:
Typically requires at least 3 years in industrial or manufacturing maintenance and 2 years in staff management. - Problem Solving and Organizational
Skills:
Capable of analyzing maintenance issues, prioritizing tasks, and implementing efficient solutions.
The primary goal of a Maintenance Manager is to: maximize equipment reliability, extend asset lifespan, and minimize operational disruptions.
